Connect Claude to Shopify in three steps.

From the directory

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Browse the connector directory and search for Product Upload.
  3. Connect it, then sign in to Product Upload when asked.
  4. Tick your Shopify store and choose Read only or Full access.

Claude and Shopify, answered.

Is this Shopify's own Claude connector?

No. Shopify makes its own connector for building and managing your store. Product Upload's connector is for importing products from supplier websites and editing your catalogue, with an undo for every edit. You can add both to Claude.

Do I need the Product Upload app on Shopify first?

Yes. Install it from the Shopify App Store and sign in with your email, then use the same email when Claude asks you to sign in. Without a store connected, products Claude imports are saved in Product Upload for CSV export instead of going into Shopify.

Do I need a paid Claude plan?

No. It works on every Claude plan, and free accounts can add one custom connector. Connecting costs nothing extra on the Product Upload side.

Can Claude import a supplier's whole catalogue?

Yes. Give it the supplier's website or a category page. It lists what it finds, checks which products you already have, and imports the rest in batches once you agree. Big imports run in the background, and you can ask Claude how they are going.

What can Claude change in my Shopify store?

With Full access: titles, descriptions, SEO, tags, vendor, type and status; variant prices, compare-at prices, SKUs and barcodes; stock at each location; images, collections and metafields. On Read only it can look but not change anything. It never sees your orders, customers or payment details.

Can I undo what Claude changed?

Yes. Product Upload saves each product before an edit, so asking Claude to undo puts back what that edit changed. If you or your staff changed something since, undo leaves your change in place. Deleted variants and images cannot be fully restored, so Claude asks before deleting.

Does it cost extra?

No. Products Claude imports or creates use the same credits as any other import. Editing, reading your catalogue and browsing suppliers do not spend credits.

Does it work with Wix or WooCommerce too?

Yes. Importing works the same on all three. Editing covers almost everything on WooCommerce (plugin 1.3.0 or later), and titles, descriptions, prices, stock, images and collections on Wix stores using Wix's original catalogue.
