Store migration hub

Migrate to Shopify without losing your rankings.

Every guide here is the full path - product data, configurable variants, customer accounts, order history, the 301 redirect template, the theme rebuild, payments, taxes, the domain switch. Written by people who've done it, not a template farm.

Guides are free and ad-free

The two paths most stores take, end to end. Both include the attribute mapping, redirect template, and what each migration tool actually costs.

The honest version

What actually migrates between platforms - and what you rebuild.

Every "one-click migration" pitch is selling you the easy 30%. The hard 70% is the same in every guide here. Plan for it up front.

WhatStatusNotes
Products (simple)MigratesEvery modern tool handles this cleanly.
Product variantsPartialUp to 3 option axes on Shopify standard plans. Configurable products with more dimensions need to be collapsed.
CustomersMigratesNames, emails, addresses, groups all migrate. Passwords don't - customers reset on first login.
Order historyPartialImports as display-only records on Shopify. Not re-fulfillable through the new platform.
Product reviewsPartialMigrates via Judge.me, Stamped, or Loox importers - rarely via the platform's native tool.
Gift card balancesRebuildCannot migrate as live balances via any CSV. Re-issue via API and email holders.
URL structure & SEORebuildEvery product/category URL changes. 301 redirects must be built manually.
Theme & layoutRebuildNo tool migrates themes between platforms. Plan a full rebuild.
Extensions / pluginsRebuild1:1 replacement with platform-native apps. The hidden cost of every migration.
Custom checkoutRebuildShopify checkout is locked unless you're on Plus.

The migration playbook (every platform, same shape)

The specifics differ - Magento URLs end in .html, WooCommerce uses /product/ - but the eight steps are the same every time.

01

Audit

Inventory products, extensions, themes, and ranking URLs before you touch anything.

02

Export

Pull products, customers, orders, reviews, and inventory as CSVs from the source platform.

03

Map

Transform the source schema into the destination's CSV columns. The boring part that decides everything.

04

Import

Pick a tool (free importer, Cart2Cart, Matrixify, managed service) and run it against a dev store first.

05

Verify

Reconcile counts, spot-check 20 products, sample-test orders. Find the broken stuff before customers do.

06

Redirect

Build the 301 redirect map - every ranking URL points to its new equivalent. This is the SEO save.

07

Rebuild

Theme, extensions/apps, shipping zones, tax rules, payment gateways. None of it migrates.

08

Switch

Point DNS, submit the new sitemap, file a Change of Address. Keep the old store running 30 days as a fallback.

After the migration: keep adding products fast

The catalog you moved is one snapshot. Restocking, new lines, supplier sync - all easier when you don't copy-paste from product pages.

Pick the platform you're leaving. The guide walks you from the export through to the day you switch the domain over.
